The altruistic goal of LAAFA is to expand the awareness and appreciation of art through direct participation and mastery.  This is achieved through its art education programs and is for all genders, races, ethnic backgrounds and economic levels.  In support of this goal, each year LAAFA awards scholarships based on talent and demonstration of motivation.
